Today, only CO 2 offsets are actively traded, but the UN is fast forwarding an international treaty for plastics (by 2024) which will include RAMP and we believe both UHI and NOx GHG impact credits will also gain traction. As noted, the latest European Union (EU) emissions regulations known as Euro 7 will be the first in the world to set limits on tire-wear pollutants and should be out in 2023. As tested by one the world’s leading transportation institutes, PlusTi TM has been shown to remove 99.6% of RAMP; 40%-60% tailpipe emissions; and triple the solar reflectance index (SRI) values of asphalt surface courses. Each critical roadway ME problem related to air quality, water ecology, biodiversity, and human health care benefits agencies and regulators as seen in recent legislation. So, plenty of federal funding opportunities are available ahead of self-funding offset credits. Plastic pollution has grown into an epidemic. With today’s resolution we are officially on track for a cure. – Espen Barth Eide, President UN Environment Assembly 263 263 UN News, March 2022.
