Asphalt Pavement preservation requires several tools to address the varying stages of pavement deterioration throughout a pavement's life cycle.
Surface re-texturing followed by application of RECLAMITE® maltene based asphalt rejuvenator is a unique combination of two field proved roadway preservation tools that have been in use separately for more than thirty years.
The Skidabrader surface texturing equipment first provides a new surface for the roadway that has significantly better skid resistance and macro texture adjustment for improved transverse water flow. This phase of the process can be performance tested using standard friction test equipment and hydrometers.
The surface texturing is then followed by the application of the RECLAMITE® maltene based asphalt rejuvenator. The RECLAMITE® penetrates into the pavement chemically adjusting the asphalt binder realogy. This phase can also be performance tested by standard testing of improvement in viscosity and maltene distribution ratio.
The newly preserved pavement section can be opened to traffic in about thirty minutes. The work progresses at approximately one lane mile per hour.
